Grayson County School Boards Pack August Agenda

SHERMAN, Texas — School boards across Grayson County have packed August agendas with budget hearings, a superintendent search, and a ribbon cutting for a new elementary campus.

Van Alstyne ISD

Van Alstyne ISD's board holds its regular meeting August 17 at 7 p.m. The agenda includes a chief of police recognition, new officer oath of office, and administrator and board member reports.

A separate budget and tax-rate hearing is scheduled for August 17 at 6:45 p.m. The board reviewed the proposed 2026-2027 budget at a workshop August 6, covering projected enrollment, staffing, state funding, employee compensation, and capital projects. No action was taken at the workshop. Budget adoption and the public hearing on the proposed tax rate are scheduled for the August 17 meeting.

Van Alstyne ISD will also hold a ribbon cutting for Charles and Beth Williams Elementary School on August 17 at 5 p.m. The campus, located at 2134 Cuellar Way in the growing Mantua community, is the district's third elementary school.

Pottsboro ISD

Pottsboro ISD's board has called a special meeting August 18 at 5:45 p.m. The primary agenda item is consideration of an agreement with a superintendent search firm to conduct the search for the next superintendent of schools. The board will also receive an update on construction projects.

Bells ISD

Bells ISD's board held its regular meeting August 10 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting included honoring new employees as Panther Spotlights and covered consent agenda items including financial reports and budget matters.
