VAN ALSTYNE, Texas — Van Alstyne ISD Board Vice President and Place 7 Trustee David Kerr has been selected as one of 26 school board trustees across Texas for the Leadership TASB Class of 2027.
The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) leadership program, established in 1993, provides advanced governance training designed to cultivate visionary leadership and public education advocacy. Kerr was chosen based on demonstrated leadership and commitment to school district governance.
Denison ISD Sets Special Meeting and Vacancy Process
In neighboring Denison, the Denison ISD Board of Trustees convened a special meeting and budget workshop on August 4.
The agenda included formal consideration and action to accept a board member resignation, declare an official board vacancy, and deliberate options for filling the unexpired term under Texas Government Code provisions for school board appointments.
