Gainesville ISD students brought home multiple awards from the annual Cooke County Livestock Show, showcasing months of dedicated work in raising and showing their animals.

GAINESVILLE, Texas — Gainesville ISD students earned recognition at the annual Cooke County Livestock Show, with participants from across the district demonstrating their agricultural skills and months of preparation. The livestock show, a highlight of the county's agricultural calendar, featured students from area schools competing in various categories including market animals and breeding stock. GISD FFA and 4-H members represented the district across multiple livestock divisions. The Cooke County Livestock Show provides students with hands-on experience in animal husbandry, business management and public speaking. Participants spend months preparing their animals for competition, learning valuable lessons about responsibility and agricultural practices along the way. "These young people put in countless hours of work before they ever step into the show ring," district officials noted. "The livestock show teaches skills that extend far beyond agriculture — time management, financial responsibility and the importance of following through on commitments." Results from the show reflect the dedication of students across multiple grade levels. Complete results are available through Gainesville ISD's official announcements. The Cooke County Junior Livestock Show continues to be one of the region's premier youth agricultural events, drawing participants from school districts throughout the county. The annual competition reinforces the area's strong agricultural heritage while preparing the next generation of farmers and ranchers.
