GAINESVILLE, Texas — Cooke County families will have several school-board meetings to follow next week, with Gainesville, Valley View and Lindsay ISDs set to consider 2026–27 policies, staffing and student-support items. Lindsay ISD also reported two students recently presented a project at the national FCCLA conference in Washington, D.C.
Gainesville ISD trustees are scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. July 20. Their agenda includes preliminary spring STAAR results, a summer-school update and a hiring update. Trustees are also set to consider a proposed 2026–31 strategic plan, replacement of the main water line at Gainesville Junior High, playground fall-zone work at Edison, Chalmers and Intermediate campuses, and the 2026–27 teacher pay scale.
Valley View ISD's board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. July 20. Its agenda includes reports on attendance and the budget, along with possible action on TASB Policy Update 127, a memorandum of understanding with the Valley View Education Foundation, the student code of conduct, an amended stipend list and Cooke County 4-H agreements.
Lindsay ISD trustees are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. July 22. The board is set to consider setting the date for a public hearing and adoption of the proposed 2026–27 tax rate. Other listed items include the student and employee handbooks, stipends and extra-duty schedules, student meal prices, facility-use rules and a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension agreement related to Cooke County 4-H.
Separately, Lindsay ISD reported that FCCLA national qualifiers Finley Fisher and Jocelyn Guerrero attended the National Leadership Conference after arriving in Washington on July 5. The district said the students presented their Food Innovations Level 2 project during the conference.
