The Wildcats earned their first postseason appearance since 2023 with a dominant performance in their regular season finale, securing the fourth playoff spot from their district.

GAINESVILLE, Texas — The Callisburg Wildcats punched their ticket to the playoffs Friday night with a convincing 42-8 victory over S&S, marking the program's return to postseason play after a two-year absence. The Wildcats (5-5) dominated both sides of the ball in their regular season finale, building an early lead and never looking back. The win, combined with Blue Ridge's victory over Howe, sealed Callisburg's playoff berth and set up a first-round matchup against Cedar Hill Trinity Leadership School. Callisburg's offense controlled the tempo throughout the game, while the defense held S&S to a single touchdown. The 34-point margin of victory represented the Wildcats' most dominant performance of the season at a crucial moment. The playoff appearance marks a significant turnaround for Callisburg, which finished the regular season at .500 after an inconsistent start. The team found its rhythm late in district play, winning key games to secure the fourth and final playoff spot. Callisburg faces a tough test in the bi-district round against Trinity Leadership School (8-2), which enters the playoffs as one of the stronger teams in 3A Division II. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Fort Worth's Doskocil Stadium. Trinity Leadership School features a balanced attack and stingy defense that allowed fewer than 15 points per game during the regular season. The Wildcats will need to replicate their performance against S&S to advance to the area round. Head coach and team leaders praised the players' resilience and determination in fighting their way back into playoff contention after early season struggles. The team's improvement over the second half of the season has energized the program and community. Tickets for Friday's game are available through the Callisburg High School athletic office. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as playoff crowds are expected to be large.
