Site-Based Decision Making Committee meets October 15 to evaluate 2024-25 progress and approve 2025-26 plans.

VALLEY VIEW, Texas — The Valley View Independent School District Site-Based Decision Making Committee will meet on Wednesday, October 15, at 4:15 p.m. to evaluate and approve district and campus improvement plans. The meeting takes place at the Bert Glascock Memorial Library at Valley View High School, located at 802 South Lee Street. Committee members will review the 2024-25 District Improvement Plan to assess progress on goals and initiatives from the previous school year. The group will also examine proposed amendments to the 2025-26 District Improvement Plan, which guides the district's strategic priorities and resource allocation. Additional items on the agenda include reviewing the migrant identification plan and school safety policy, both of which require periodic updates to maintain compliance with state requirements and address evolving needs. The committee will consider approval of the proposed District Improvement Plan before turning attention to individual School Improvement Plans for Valley View Elementary, Valley View Middle School, and Valley View High School. These campus-level plans outline specific strategies for improving student achievement and addressing the unique needs of each school. Site-Based Decision Making committees are required by Texas education law and include representatives from teachers, parents, community members, and administrators. These committees provide input on educational programs, staffing, and budget priorities while ensuring diverse perspectives shape district decisions. The improvement planning process incorporates data on student performance, campus demographics, and community needs to establish measurable goals for the school year. Plans typically address academic achievement, student attendance, safety, and other factors contributing to school quality.
