Culberson Street repairs underway downtown

The City of Gainesville began street repairs on North Culberson Street this week, with crews starting work Tuesday, July 7. The work is tied to the broader Medal of Honor Boulevard and Culberson Street reconstruction project the Record covered last month — a roughly $681,700 rebuild of the corridor's pavement, sidewalks, and underground water and sewer lines. A full construction contractor and start date for the larger rebuild had not been announced as of late June; this week's repairs mark visible progress on the corridor.

Fire & Table hosts local vendor event Saturday

Fire & Table is hosting a community event this Saturday, July 11, spotlighting local vendors including The Eucalyptus Room, Five C Cottage Bakery, and Smith Feed Store. Organizers are encouraging residents to come out and support Gainesville-area small businesses. Check Fire & Table's Facebook page for exact times and location details.

Boys & Girls Club at KidZone Splash Bash

The Boys & Girls Club of Cooke County will have a presence at this Saturday's KidZone Splash Bash, serving as a sponsor of the event. Families looking for a summer activity this weekend can find more details through the Boys & Girls Club of Cooke County's Facebook page.
