GAINESVILLE, Texas — Gainesville Police and Fire-Rescue will host National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The free event is at the Gainesville Farmers Market, 215 W. Elm St. A Sept. 28 city release says it is meant to connect neighbors from Gainesville and Cooke County with first responders, community organizations, and local businesses.
People who attend can get free food. The city's calendar listing says that food is offered while supplies last. Free kids' activities include bounce houses, face painting, and arts projects. Free games and giveaways are also planned, along with visits to local vendors and tables that share community resources.
Emergency vehicles will be on display. Families can meet personnel from Gainesville Police, Gainesville Fire-Rescue, the Cooke County Sheriff's Office, Cooke County EMS, the Gainesville ISD Police Department, and CareFlite.
