GAINESVILLE, Texas — North Texas Medical Center has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report for patient experience, while Frank Buck Zoo hosted its first-ever Zoo Tales reading event for local authors.

NTMC received four out of five stars in Patient Experience on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey, which most hospitals are required to administer. The hospital scored at or above the national average in satisfaction with the hospital overall, willingness to recommend, and satisfaction with hospital room cleanliness.

The HCAHPS survey is given to patients after they leave the hospital and measures their experience across multiple categories. NTMC has previously been recognized as a Women's Choice Award recipient for patient satisfaction.

Zoo Tales Promotes Local Authors

Frank Buck Zoo held its first Zoo Tales event, an exciting day of reading that promoted local authors at the zoo. The event combined wildlife education with literacy, giving visitors a chance to meet authors and discover books with regional ties.

The zoo, located in Leonard Park, regularly hosts community education programs including Zooper Reads and Discovery Days. Zoo Tales adds a new literary dimension to the zoo's community programming.

Both events highlight the range of community and healthcare resources serving Cooke County residents.
