North Central Texas College still has seats available in later summer sessions, giving Cooke County students a chance to get ahead or catch up before fall.

GAINESVILLE, Texas — North Central Texas College still has seats available in later summer sessions, giving students a chance to get ahead on their degree, make up a course, or pick up extra credits before fall semester begins.

While NCTC's earliest summer sessions have already started, later sessions remain open — and in some cases late registration is still possible. The college offers flexible summer scheduling that works for working adults, high school graduates preparing for their first college semester, and students at other institutions looking to transfer credit.

Who Should Consider Summer Enrollment

Summer coursework at NCTC is a practical option for several groups:

  • Recent high school graduates who want to start college early and reduce their fall course load
  • Students who need to retake a course or satisfy a prerequisite before fall
  • Transfer students filling core curriculum gaps before moving to a four-year university
  • Working adults pursuing a certificate or associate degree at a pace that fits their schedule

North Texas students enrolled at UNT or Texas Woman's University may also transfer summer credits from NCTC at a fraction of the cost of taking the same course at a larger university.

Getting Enrolled

New students apply through ApplyTexas.org. Returning students and those who have previously attended NCTC can log into the student portal to register directly.

Students unsure which courses to take or which session fits their needs can connect with an NCTC advisor through Lion365, the college's advising platform.

NCTc's main campus is located at 1525 W. California Street in Gainesville. For enrollment questions, contact the college at (940) 668-7731 or by text at (940) 251-0701. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon.

Current course offerings and session dates are listed at nctc.edu.
