GAINESVILLE, Texas — North Central Texas College has been awarded a Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) Texas Reskilling and Upskilling Education (TRUE) grant totaling more than $2.375 million.
The grant will enable NCTC to provide high-demand programs related to electrical, industrial mechatronics, automation, and robotics, while also expanding the college's allied health offerings.
The funding represents a significant investment in workforce development for Cooke County and the surrounding region. These programs address critical skill gaps in North Texas industries experiencing rapid growth and technological advancement.
NCTC's expansion comes as the Dallas-Fort Worth area undergoes historic economic growth, creating increased demand for skilled workers in manufacturing, healthcare, and technology sectors.
The TRUE grant program supports Texas institutions in developing and expanding programs that provide students with skills needed for high-wage, high-demand careers. NCTC's award reflects the college's role as a key workforce pipeline for regional employers.
Students enrolled in these programs will gain hands-on training with industry-standard equipment and earn credentials recognized by employers throughout North Texas and beyond.
