GAINESVILLE, Texas — North Central Texas College Foundation will host its annual Donor/Scholar Breakfast on Friday, November 7, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the NCTC Gym on the Gainesville campus.
The free event celebrates scholarship recipients' accomplishments while recognizing the foundation donors who make higher education possible for students across the region. The breakfast provides an opportunity for donors to meet the students they support and hear about their academic journeys.
The program will highlight scholarship recipients' achievements, introduce foundation donors to the campus community, and showcase new scholarship opportunities established during the past year. These face-to-face connections demonstrate the direct impact of philanthropic giving on individual students' lives.
"Celebrate the accomplishments of our scholarship recipients and thank our foundation donors," organizers said in announcing the event.
The NCTC Foundation manages dozens of scholarships for students pursuing degrees and certificates at the college. These scholarships range from general academic awards to program-specific funding for fields including nursing, business, education, and technical careers. Many scholarships honor the memory of community members or recognize the contributions of local businesses and organizations.
The breakfast format allows donors to see firsthand how their contributions translate into educational opportunities. For many scholarship recipients, meeting their donors provides motivation and creates lasting connections with community members invested in their success.
The event takes place in the gymnasium at NCTC's Gainesville campus, located at 1525 West California Street. Admission is free, but registration is required due to space limitations and meal planning.
Foundation scholarships play a crucial role in college affordability, particularly for students who may not qualify for traditional financial aid but still need support to complete their education. These privately funded awards often cover expenses that federal and state aid does not address, such as textbooks, supplies, and living costs.
Those interested in attending should register online through the NCTC Foundation website. For questions about registration or the event program, contact Michele at mbmeador@nctc.edu.
More information about NCTC Foundation scholarships, including how to apply or establish a scholarship fund, is available at nctc.edu/foundation.
