GAINESVILLE, Texas — North Central Texas College honored its 2001 NJCAA National Championship Lions baseball team at a recognition ceremony Saturday, March 28, reuniting former players, coaches and fans to mark one of the most significant achievements in the college's athletic history.
The ceremony took place before the afternoon game against Grayson College. Team members were recognized on the field and greeted with applause from the crowd.
The 2001 Lions captured the NJCAA national title, a distinction that remains a cornerstone of NCTC's athletic legacy. Saturday's reunion served as both a celebration of that accomplishment and a connection between the college's past and its current athletic program.
NCTC continues to field competitive athletics programs today. Information on current Lions teams and schedules is available at nctc.edu.
