With winter weather threatening the region, Lindsay ISD reminds families how the district communicates school closings and delays through multiple channels.

LINDSAY, Texas — As a major winter storm approaches North Texas, Lindsay ISD has reminded families about how the district communicates weather-related school closings and schedule changes. When winter weather forces schedule changes, the district broadcasts announcements through local television channels 4, 5 and 12. Families can also check the school website at lindsayisd.org and the district's Facebook page at @lindsayisd for updates. District officials encourage parents to monitor these channels during periods of inclement weather. Decisions about closings and delays are typically made early in the morning to give families adequate time to adjust their schedules. "We understand that weather-related closings affect the entire community," the district noted. "Our priority is always student safety, and we work to communicate decisions as quickly as possible through multiple platforms." The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for North Texas, with significant ice and snow accumulation expected over the weekend. Lindsay ISD joins other area districts in preparing for potential disruptions to the school schedule. Parents with questions about weather-related closings can visit the Lindsay ISD website or contact the district office. The district recommends families have backup childcare plans in place during severe weather season. For the latest updates, follow Lindsay ISD on Facebook or visit www.lindsayisd.org.
