LINDSAY, Texas — Lindsay ISD will host a blood drive on Tuesday, Jan. 28, providing an opportunity for students, staff, and community members to give blood.
The drive continues a tradition of community service at Lindsay schools, where student organizations regularly coordinate donation events in partnership with regional blood centers.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent in Texas), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health. Donors should bring a valid photo ID and eat a healthy meal before donating.
The donation process typically takes about an hour, including registration, a brief health screening, the donation itself, and a recovery period with refreshments.
Blood donations are critical during winter months when supplies often run low due to weather-related cancellations and seasonal illnesses. Each donation can help save up to three lives.
For more information about the blood drive, including specific times and sign-up procedures, contact Lindsay ISD at 940-668-8923 or visit lindsayisd.org.
