GAINESVILLE, Texas — Motorists traveling through Gainesville along US 82 will need to reduce their speed following a formal speed zone reduction enacted by state transportation authorities. The Texas Department of Transportation has officially lowered the posted speed limit from 45 mph to 40 mph along a 1.7-mile stretch of US 82 within Gainesville city limits.
