GAINESVILLE, Texas — Three private projects along or near U.S. Highway 82 show continued investment in Gainesville's fuel, grocery and auto-service corridor. State permit records cover a 7-Eleven fueling center near Interstate 35, an ALDI grocery store and a Take 5 Oil Change building.
The projects do not establish a single development schedule or guarantee opening dates, but they provide a consistent record of planned private construction along a highway that serves local households, travelers and commercial traffic.
Three permit records
State records list 7-Eleven 42604 Gainesville at the U.S. 82 and I-35 interchange. The project is a new, one-story fueling center with 6,156 square feet and an estimated cost of $1.4 million. The filing lists a July 6, 2026 start date and a May 4, 2027 completion date. The fueling center would add a convenience-store and gas option at one of Gainesville's busiest intersections.
ALDI 112 is listed at 1210 U.S. Highway 82. The filing describes a new 20,275-square-foot grocery store with an estimated cost of $2.4 million. The listed start date was Nov. 1, 2025, and the listed completion date was April 1, 2026. ALDI operates discount grocery stores nationally and would add competition to Gainesville's grocery market.
Take 5 Oil Change is listed at 409 U.S. 82. Its filing describes a new 1,682-square-foot express oil-change building with an estimated cost of $850,000. The record lists a Jan. 1, 2026 start date and a July 1, 2027 completion date.
What it means for the corridor
Fueling, groceries and vehicle service serve different customer needs, so the filings should not be treated as proof of a single development cluster or a measured traffic increase. The estimated costs are project filings, not audited final costs, and completion dates may not match opening dates.
The three records give Gainesville residents a way to follow corridor changes. City permits, certificates of occupancy, site work and business announcements can be checked against the state filings to track when each project moves from planning to construction to opening.
