DENTON COUNTY — United Way of Denton County's annual golf tournament set a new fundraising record, raising more than $86,000 to support community programs across the region. The tournament, held in June, surpassed previous years' totals and demonstrates growing community support for United Way initiatives. The organization serves multiple North Texas counties including portions of Cooke County. Funds raised support United Way's network of partner agencies that provide services in areas including education, financial stability, and health. The organization coordinates charitable giving and volunteer efforts throughout Denton and surrounding counties. United Way of Denton County also announced volunteer board training programs in July, expanding leadership development opportunities for community members interested in nonprofit governance.
