GAINESVILLE, Texas — U.S. Representative Brandon Gill visited North Central Texas College in Gainesville to tour campus academic facilities and inspect the college's Medal of Honor Museum. During the congressional visit, Rep. Gill met with campus leadership and spent time reviewing exhibits dedicated to America's highest military award for valor. While at the museum, Gill presented founder Don Pettigrew with a formal congressional commendation recognizing his work in establishing the museum and honoring Medal of Honor recipients in North Texas. "It was great to tour North Central Texas College in Gainesville and visit their Medal of Honor Museum," Rep. Gill said following the tour. "While there, I had the honor of presenting Don Pettigrew, the museum’s founder, with special congressional recognition." The Medal of Honor Museum at NCTC aligns with Gainesville's designation as America's official Medal of Honor Host City, an initiative that honors living recipients each year and promotes civic education. The museum preserves artifacts, personal stories, and military records associated with recipients across multiple generations of service. College administrators noted that congressional engagement highlights NCTC's dual mission of higher education and community heritage preservation across Cooke County.
