Grayson County commissioners tabled a plan finalizing November election polling times to correct typos in the order of election.

SHERMAN, Texas — Grayson County commissioners tabled a proposal this week that would finalize polling times for the Nov. 3 general election, sending the item back for corrections before approval. Elections Administrator Julie Phillips appeared before commissioners to finalize polling times for the upcoming election season. Commissioners chose not to approve the item as written and agreed to return to it next week after typographical changes are made to the order of election. "Are we able to table this and get this corrected and bring it back?" Commissioner Josh Marr asked. "Absolutely," Phillips said. Commissioners confirmed the delay would not affect required state timelines for election notices. According to meeting documents, early voting for the Nov. 3 election will begin Oct. 19 and continue through Oct. 30. Offices on the ballot include U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative District 4, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Commissioner of the General Land Office, Commissioner of Agriculture, Railroad Commissioner, State Representative District 62, district judges, county judge, county courts at law, district clerk, county clerk, county treasurer, county commissioner Precincts 2 and 4, and justice of the peace Precincts 2, 3 and 4. A full list of polling locations has not been released. Phillips reminded residents that Monday, Oct. 5 is the last day to register to vote, and Friday, Oct. 23 is the last day to submit an application for a ballot by mail. Once the order of election is approved, it will be posted on the elections office website. The item is expected to return to the commissioners agenda next week with the typographical changes corrected. Voters must be registered at least 30 days before an election to be eligible. Registration questions can be directed to the Grayson County Elections Administration at 903-893-8683.
