VALLEY VIEW, Texas – Valley View ISD will host two food assistance programs on Saturday, December 6, providing support to local families during the holiday season. The district partners with the Tarrant Area Food Bank for a monthly drive-through distribution event scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at the Valley View School student parking lot, 802 South Lee Street. All community members are welcome to participate, with each vehicle permitted to collect groceries for up to two households. The program operates on a drive-through basis for convenient access. Volunteers interested in supporting the distribution effort can register through the district's sign-up system. The partnership between Valley View ISD and Tarrant Area Food Bank represents an ongoing monthly initiative to address food insecurity in the community. In addition, Mt. Pleasant Bible Church will operate its food pantry from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 14777 S FM 372 in Valley View. The pantry serves families on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. No application process or income verification is required for participants. The church accepts donations of canned proteins, beans, peanut butter, jelly, pasta with sauce, powdered milk, eggs, and bread to support the pantry's operations. Both programs aim to assist households during the holiday season when food expenses can strain family budgets. The coordinated efforts reflect community commitment to ensuring local families have access to nutritious food. Residents seeking additional information about either program can contact Valley View ISD or visit the district website at www.vvisd.net.
